Niagara on the Lake

After we visited Niagara Falls, we did a little road trip up to Niagara on the Lake. The GPS wanted to take us on the short highway route, but Pat and Henry persisted and managed to navigate us to the scenic route (The GPS lady was not impressed with us! 😀)

It is a beautiful drive and we saw some beautiful vineyards, homes, and the coast of Lake Ontario. Pat and Henry dropped us off at the end of town by the lake and Steve and I walked back along the coast.

It was a beautiful walk... but we did get lost... no surprise there! Luckily Steve had an app on his phone that helped us find out where we wanted to be!

We walked past a lovely golf course, houses with beautifully landscaped yards, a cemetery, a park, and then the cute little shops on main street. As I look back at my photos I realize we didn't take many... I guess we were too distracted by the beauty of the area. It really was gorgeous!

Here is a photo where we started our walk. This is a zoomed in view of Toronto across Lake Ontario:

I keep marvelling at how huge the beautiful white hydrangeas are here. I tried to put my hand in the picture to show the size, but it still doesn't really capture the beauty of a giant bush literally sagging under the weight of these beauties!

The town itself was super cute and had many beautiful restaurants, shops and galleries. There may have been one or more tasty treats consumed!

After our walk we met up with Pat and Henry again and had a lovely dinner at a Greek restaurant.

This is a very cute town. If you are planning a trip to Niagara Falls, I'd stay here and just drive over to the falls. This town is a great vacation spot!
