Not much to report today. It was a day of PPR... Pool, Poker and Relaxation 😀

Steve played in a deep stack, which he enjoyed, but didn't win. (Tahiti plans on the back burner I guess... )

The only very weird thing I wanted to mention will only make sense to poker people. Phil Hellmuth made his grand entrance to the main event yesterday. This involved him in some sort of hokey costume with many beautiful girls dressed as Wonder Woman escorting him in some strange entourage. I think it's weird... that man has an ego... but I guess Las Vegas is the place for you if you are weird with an ego! 

The entourage went by Steve's table as he was playing, and one older gentlemen said as the Wonder Women walked by, "Well that makes the $250 entrance fee worth it" 😉

I think the other thing worth mentioning today was the 4th of July fireworks. We have a mountain view (AKA too cheap to pay to look at the strip) so saw plenty of fireworks in the distance. They weren't coming from just one place, but rather all over town. Americans are definitely patriotic! They went on for quite some time (more than an hour!) I didn't see or hear any big displays from the hotels, apparently Caesar's did their fireworks on the weekend. I guess that is what happens when your holiday falls in the middle of the week!

Another day of PPR - Poker, Pool and Relaxation.

Steve played in his second and final bracelet event of the year.

He did well, but didn't end up cashing. He ended up around 300th out of 1351 people, but the cashes didn't start until 203rd place. I think he might play in a few more deepstacks... the whole purpose of coming here was for poker after all!

I guess the silver lining to the day for Steve was getting a picture with one of his poker favourites - Gaelle Baumann.

Guess what happened today? Yep... more PPR. Tomorrow is a day reserved for non-poker stuff, so he had to get as much poker in as possible. I'm quite happy to go to the pool and relax and laze around. Those are three things I'm quite accomplished at 😉

Today Steve played in another deepstack. These are not bracelet events, but are tournaments that still attract a lot of interest. Today's buy in was $250 (a little easier on the wallet than the WSOP bracelet events) and had 787 registrants.

Steve played for about 12 hours, and I came down to spy on him at some point. This is what he looks like when he's playing. I tried to take a sneaky photo so it's a bit blurry. He's obviously the handsome one in the red and black jacket 💖

It's super exciting as the tournament goes on to see how he's doing, how many people are being knocked out, and when the "bubble bursts" (that's when the last player gets eliminated that doesn't cash). I happened to walk into the room when they announced that everybody left in the game was "in the money". Now that is what I like to hear!

Steve ended up getting 21st... which I think is pretty amazing! Steve keeps saying the prize money was ONLY $975... but that's almost 4X your money. Sounds pretty good to me!

And to finish the night off he got another picture with a famous poker player, Eric Seidel. This guy has eight WSOP bracelets and is forever immortalized in the movie Rounders (which we've only watched a bajillion times)! To give you an idea of what a legend he is in the poker world, he has over 34 million in live earnings. That only includes poker tournaments that are tracked, and does not count cash games. That is A LOT of poker wins!
