Our Last Day in London

We saw Emma!

 January 28, 2011

Note: Those of you who are waiting patiently for blogs and are noticing I am quite behind... I am still writing them... We have a *(#& gigabyte limit on our Internet service so I will post more when I can. If you live in Canada: Sign the petition. And back to the blog!

We had a pretty quiet couple of days. I had planned to take the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly but ended up resting quite a bit instead (still trying to kick this ridiculous cough… I sound like a chain smoker…) We did take some nice long walks around Sydney, but also did a LOT of resting.

We did get to do one exciting thing, which was meet up with Emma for dinner! For those of you who don't know Emma, she is one of Steve’s long-time Tae Kwon Do students. Emma’s travelling in Australia for four months on her own!

Waiting for Emma!

We met Emma down at Darling Harbour (Steve got one of his Emma super-duper hugs…he’s been waiting for that) and attempted to find a place to eat dinner. The first place we went into checked Emma’s ID… but for some strange reason didn’t want to check mine. I joked with them about checking mine and they laughed out loud! HOW RUDE! 😀 We didn’t end up staying (not because they laughed at how old I look) because they didn’t actually have any available tables where we could sit and eat.

After checking many MANY restaurant menus we finally found one that had space for us. We had a terrific dinner  (Emma was daring and tried the crocodile burger!)

We enjoyed hearing about Emma’s travels in Australia so far. If you ask me, it’s pretty brave to go traveling all by yourself!

A little ice cream for dessert!

After dinner we took a little walk to get some ice cream and watched a few of the street performers. It was great to see someone from home 💖

Giving Emma a boost so she can see the street performers
