Our Last Day in London

We're Back in Naxos! Sept. 17, 2010

Friday September 17, 2010

Today is Mom and Gary's last day in Greece. (They head to Roma today, and then home on Saturday.) We all have our breakfast by the pool (I don’t want to see another Ham and Cheese sandwich for a while, but I do like that they bring you a little piece of cake before breakfast!) and then Mom and Gary head off to the airport.

We hang around for the morning, packing up our stuff, mailing our postcards, enjoying the view from the caldera, having one last gyro… you know the stuff life is made of when you’re on permanent vacation… before we head off to the ferry.

We have an uneventful ferry ride playing cards and backgammon and arrive in Naxos! We both really love Naxos!

We walk to our hotel. We’re staying in a different hotel this time because the one we stayed in last time is full. As we walk past our old hotel we see the whiney brat that was staying in the room next to us. (They’re still there, Mom!!!!)

Our new hotel is okay. It’s a little older, but has everything we need including a large terrace overlooking the sea. After we check in and get settled, we see a beautiful pink sunset from our balcony. (It’s welcoming us back I think :))

We take a little walk along the beach to our favourite restaurant and eat under the stars on the beach. (Of course I ordered the olives!). The guys working there remembered us, and they did ask where you were Mom and Gary! After dinner we walked back along the beach with our feet in the ocean. That is one of my favourite things to do!

We’re both glad to be back in Naxos!
