Our Last Day in London

The Doors of Rome - Sept. 3, 2010

When we were in Rome we couldn't believe the beauty of the doors… it may seem strange to you… but we'd just stop and stare at the beautiful doors. We liked them so much we decided to collect photos of them! This is a bit of a diversion from the regular travel blog and will include the photos we took as our "Doors of Rome" self-imposed project… I guess teachers are always giving themselves homework ☺ We stood beside each door so you could see the relative size of the doors.

Let's start with "Courtyard Doors"

This seems like a particularly important door... the clues are... flag, important looking guys and metal pull down grate!

And a "Possible Garage Door???"

Then there were the "Pretty Doors" AKA "Doors I would like for my own house"!

Next let's move on to "Doors for Really Tall People" (way taller than Mr. B.)

And conversely… "Little Hobbit Doors"

We also came across the very popular "Door Within a Door".

This next one I found particularly puzzling... who uses this little door?

This next door within a door wins the prize for "Most Beautifully Decorated"

And this one won the prize for "Heaviest Knocker"

There were the "Ancient Doors"

And of course the "Door to the Underworld"!

This wins the prize for "Most Demolished Door"

This won the prize for "How do you get in this door?"

For our grand finale we'll finish with our favourite kind of door. "Doors You Aren't Suppose to Open!"
