Romania

The Girl they Left Behind - by Roxanne Veletzos. My score 5/5. Read in March 2019. Set mainly in Bucharest, but also in the Romanian countryside and the U.S.A.

Russia

City of Thieves - by David Benioff. My score 4/5. Read in December 2017. Set in WWII Leningrad during the Nazi siege.

The Witches of St. Petersburg - by Imogen Edwards-Jones. My score 3/5. Read in August 2019. Set in St. Petersburg.

I chose this book because I was recently visiting St. Petersburg. The book may have been more enjoyable for me because of this connection. It was interesting to find out about these two sisters who aren't really mentioned very often.
