Little Princes: One Man's Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal - By Conor Grenan. My score 5/5. Read in April 2011
Sold - By Patricia McCormick. My score 5/5. Read in January 2008.
Intended for high school age readers, I think. The content is about young girls being sold into prostitution, from a young girl's perspective.

The Secret Diary of Hendrik Groen, 83 1/4 years old - By Hendrik Groen, Hester Velmans. My score 5/5. Read in September 2020.
Ultimately a book about friendship, and making the most of it. I found this book to be fascinating and funny. It could have felt sad and boring, as it follows Hendrik's life in a care facility, but instead I found it hopeful and heartwarming. Definitely recommended!
The Dinner - By Herman Koch. My score 4/5. Read in November 2013.
At first I thought I didn't like the book, because I hated the characters (a la Gone Girl)... but it turns out that once I remove myself from it emotionally, I actually liked the story and thought it was well written. Not a fan of the author purposely not telling important information, but other than that I thought it was well written.
The Last Painting of Sara de Vos - By Dominic Smith. My score 5/5. Read in November 2018.
I really enjoyed the storyline. The characters were interesting and likeable, yet despicable at the same time.

My Sister, the Serial Killer - By Oyinkan Braithwaite. My score 4/5. Read in February 2021.
I really enjoyed this one. The story was unique and interesting. A welcome change from all the thrillers with a twist that I have been reading lately. I found the story and the characters to be fascinating, and I hoping that another book is being written to continue where this one left off.
Norway
The Mercies - By Kiran Millwood Hargrave. My score 4/5. Read in May 2021.
It is historical fiction set in the early 1600's. The story is quite interesting, although I found it a bit slow at the beginning. It was a unique story that really gave a glimpse into what life was life for women in this time period. It had the added interesting plot line about which hunting, which really piqued my interest! The characters are vivid and strong. I really loved some of them, and really hated others... that's a sign of good writing.😁 Definitely recommended!
