Bahamas

The Far Side of the Sun - By Kate Furnivall - My score 3/5. Read August 2019.

Island - By Richard Laymon and Dean Koontz

Bahrain

Bangladesh

A Golden Age - by Tahmima Anam. My score 4/5. Read February 2021.

I really enjoyed this one. It felt effortless to read, which is quite an accomplishment when covering a heavy subject like a revolution. I enjoyed learning about a historical event that I previously knew nothing about. I also really liked the characters. You could really feel what they were going through. Recommended.

Barbados

How the One-Armed Sister Sweeps Her House - by Cherie Jones. My score 3.5/5. Read October 2021.

This one was a solid 3.5 for me. The voice of Lala felt authentic and provided me with a viewpoint I hadn't experienced before. I found it to be an intense glimpse into the Barbados I'll probably never see on my own.

Belarus

Belgium

Expo 58 - By Jonathan Coe. My score 3/5. Read May 2020.

The Day of the Jackal - by Frederick Forsyth

Belize

Beka Lamb - By Zee Edgell

Benin

The Viceroy of Ouidah - By Bruce Chatwin

Bhutan

Bolivia

Women Talking - By Miriam Toews. My score 5/5. Read January 2019. Please note this is set in a fictional colony, but is based on true events that transpired in Manitoba, Bolivia. Based on true events (but definitely a fictionalized version). This is a heart-wrenching story of women knowing what is wrong, and trying to decide to do what is right. I wasn't a giant fan of the way the story was told, but can't think of a better way to do it. This is definitely an important story that needs to be told.

I am a Taxi - By Deborah Ellis. My score 4/5. Read April 2008. Please note this is a middle grades novel.

The Lost World - By Arthur Conan Doyle

Bosnia Herzegovina

Line of Sight - By Mike Maden

Botswana

The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency - by Alexander McCall Smith

Brazil

State of Wonder - By Ann Patchett. My score 3/5. Read January 2015

Brunei

Bulgaria

Under the Yoke - By Ivan Vazov

Burkina Faso

Burundi
